Casting From The Alginate Mold In many cases the plaster cast that comes out of the alginate mold is the final art piece depending on what kind of finish the artist or model is looking to achieve.  There are endless possibilities for finishing the plaster casting.  The finish is usually discussed prior to the casting process as some finishes require different casting techniques.  This also, of course, affects the price of the final casting.
